Following our tradition of getting ready for Winter Field Day (January 25-26), we will bring our gear and hot chocolate to Jan Park in Carmichael to set everything up, make sure it works and play radio for a few hours this Sunday, January 12.

If you have gear (as in radios, antennas, masts, filters or power sources like PV, batteries or generator) that you want to take for a spin, make sure you talk to Joel/AI6DG, Steve/W6VDP or Anders/NR6H before the 12th so we can plan the setup accordingly. We want everyone to get a chance to use their gear.

If you have no gear of your own to bring, this is an excellent time to check our other solutions, learn how to set up systems and make it all work. While most of the traffic on Winter Field Day is on the HF bands, there will also be activity on VHF/UHF, so you can participate even if you have a Technician license. Even better, you can operate on the HF bands as long as there's a control operator around with the appropriate license!

We will set up both phone and digital capabilities and if we're lucky, someone that knows CW might swing by ;)
