August Off the Grid

Join us in Lew Howard Park in Folsom on August 17 for our off the grid practice!
Bring your gear, be it a complete station and antenna setup, or maybe just a component that you want to try. Even if you don't bring anything, this is a great event to look at what others are doing, or maybe operate for a while.
We are setting up around 9am, and stay until batteries run flat or we get hungry. As an added bonus, this coincides with "International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend", so make it a challenge to make at least one contact with a light house from the park! More about this here.

The location is Lew Howard Park in Folsom. It's a small park, but on a hill and away from most noise sources, so it's a great spot to play with radios. There is ample parking and the park is very accessible. Note that you get to the park from Folsom-Auburn Road. Turn off Folsom-Auburn Road next to McDonalds, onto Oak Avenue (NOT Oak Avenue Parkway!). Follow the signs to the park and drive all the way up to the road ends.
