2025 starts with better reception

A few months ago we noticed some degraded performance from our remote receiver at Pine Hill. We suspected the 15+ year old coax from the receive antenna in Folsom might be bad. That coax runs around the building and over the years it's been embedded with other cabling, making it difficult to replace.

We also wanted to try to shield the receive antenna from the pave paws radar at Beale AFB by lowering it behind the building.

The repeater was busy as we were finishing up, and as soon as we plugged in the new antenna, the voter switched over to Pine Hill.

It's just been 24 hours as of this writing, but it's clear from the statistics that the Pine Hill receiver is now used much more than before the swap. Success!

Update January 4 : Here's the statistics from yesterday. Pine is now the most voted receiver, as it should be!
